Richard G. Kief has joined MedStar Washington Hospital Center as senior vice president and chief philanthropy officer. Kief brings more than two decades of progressive philanthropy leadership experience in both health care and higher education, having previously served eight years as the senior vice president for Development at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda and thirteen years as vice president for Institutional Advancement at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.
Kief has a track record of successfully growing philanthropy programs throughout his career. In addition, during his tenure at Suburban Hospital, he served as chairman of the board for the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, the international membership organization for healthcare philanthropy professionals.
Kief leads all philanthropy programs for MedStar Washington Hospital Center and works closely with the Foundation Board of Directors to grow philanthropic support for an upcoming capital campaign for facility redevelopment.
Kief also serves on MedStar Health's Philanthropy Leadership Team.
