President’s Award for Personally Making a Difference

LORELEI REYES-LUMPP, RN, Unit 3C

April 19, 2012 Recipient

President John Sullivan presents the
President’s Award for Personally
Making a Difference to Lorelei.

Lorelei Reyes-Lumpp, RN is like a Swiss watch. Always dependable. Always precise. You can count on her.

That's why she is the very first-ever recipient of the President's Award for Personally Making a Difference.

Talk about "on time, every time." Lorelei's Unit, 3C, has recognized her for 14 consecutive months for her commitment to her patients, their care and their safety. Lorelei also co-chairs a team on 3C investigating a sleep protocol and noise reduction initiative.

Jane McGee , RN, MSN, CMSRN, nursing director of the 3C unit describes Lorelei this way: "Lorelei always aims for 100%—99% is not good enough for her, since the patients are always her top priority, and the 1% would represent a lapse in something she needed to do for her patients."

That's setting high personal standards.

Patients have noticed, too. One wrote in a recent CenterStar communication, "Lorelei was extremely attentive to me. She warmly greeted me each day and included me in my treatment plan.... I felt cared for with Lorelei."
