Minimally-invasive approach
Minimally-invasive thoracic surgery means making smaller incisions in the chest, and using lighted endoscopes (long, thin tubes) to perform surgery. By using this technique, patients recover faster and post-operative pain is reduced, as the ribs are not spread and the muscles of the chest wall are not divided.
