Geriatrics and Long-Term Care

The MedStar Washington Hospital Center's Section of Geriatrics and Long-Term Care promotes the health and dignity of frail elders. We offer Washington D.C.'s only Medical House Call Program and only inpatient Geriatrics Unit. We provide broad expertise in the care of dementia; severe chronic illnesses, such as hypertension, diabetes and heart failure; and end-of-life care. Our knowledgeable staff members provide innovative and state-of-the-art care in the home and at the hospital. This enables elders and their families to receive skilled and compassionate care that addresses all their special social and medical needs.
